Pull the text out of a PDF into a Word document (.docx) you can keep editing. Everything runs on your device — nothing is uploaded.
The PDFs and images you choose are only ever read into this browser tab's memory. Merging, splitting, compressing, converting and signing are all performed by the browser on your device, and the result is saved straight to your Downloads folder. Not a single byte is sent to a server, so questions like "how long is it kept" and "when is it deleted" simply don't apply — close the tab and the memory is reclaimed.
Really. There is no server here that processes files — merging, compressing and converting are all computed by your own browser. You can switch off your network mid-way and everything except OCR will still finish.
Because there are no server costs. The computation runs on your device, so we only pay to host a static page. It is a free tool from SOP International Language School in Cebu, Philippines, and we don't monetise it.
We don't impose one. The real limit is your device's memory — a phone can usually handle one or two hundred pages, a computer considerably more. If the tab closes mid-way you have run out of memory: use a computer, or split the file first.
The Standard, Strong and Smallest modes redraw each page as an image, so the text becomes part of that image and can no longer be selected. Choose "Lossless tidy-up" if you need searchable text — though it saves far less space.
